  • Directs and oversees the organization's marketing policies, objectives, and initiatives. Conducts market research and develops marketing plans for specific products, services, or business lines. Reviews changes to the marketplace and industry and adjusts marketing plan accordingly.

     

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Design, implement, and facilitate annual marketing plan.
    • Plan and administer the marketing budget.
    • Translate business objectives into marketing strategies to achieve growth objectives for each product category.
    • Develop product marketing and communications strategies, based on knowledge of Edlong’s technical expertise, market conditions and opportunities, and competitive environment.
    • Manage marketing suppliers:
      • Marketing agency relationship and projects that support delivery of annual marketing plan, including development of all sales collateral, sales tools, webinars, website, print materials, trade advertising, publicity.
      • Promotion, print, market research and other vendors.
    • Manage product line via new launches, SKU rationalization/consolidation.
    • Lead new product development / applications development initiatives.
    • Team with R&D and Sales to prepare and deliver compelling customer presentations.
    • Collaborate with internal communications team on corporate communications activities.
    • Build and develop a marketing team which is competent, commercially astute, dedicated and efficient.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results in adherence to Corporate Mission, Vision and Strategic goals as needed.
    • Taste panel participation.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge base by sponsoring or attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies pertaining to position.
    • Support the alignment of global business practices, processes and procedures.
    • Spearhead banner and sign production, including concept, artwork, final draft and printing.
    • Revise letterhead, envelopes, labels and assure that all materials are consistent with the Edlong brand.

     

    Qualifications

    To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     Education and/or Experience

    BS/BA in Marketing Food Science or related field with 8 years of ingredient marketing experience. 2 years’ experience at the director level or 5 years’ experience as Marketing Manager. Experience and knowledge of new medias.

     

    Language Skills

    Ability to:

    • Read, write, comprehend written, electronic, spoken instructions, memos, correspondence, communicate verbally by phone and electronically in a professional manner in English.
    • Effectively present information in one-on-one, large and small group situations to customers, clients, or other employees.
    • Compile data into reports and summaries.
    • Listen to customer needs and respond with appropriate product proposals to meet those needs.
    • Comply with procedures in completing written documentation of sales or calls.

     

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to:

    • Compute in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Compute rates, ratios, and percents and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Perform mathematical operations using various units of money, weight, volume and distance.

     

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to:

    • Work independently to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Develop positive customer relationships and respond to inquiries or complaints from customers in a proactive manner.
    • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.

     

    Computer Skill

    Working knowledge of:

    • Microsoft office and ability to learn and use all internal business software.
    • HTML, Adobe CS2(Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge).

     

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job:

    • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit.
    • The employee must be able to operate a keyboard, calculator and telephone.

     

    Work Environment

    • The work location is a traditional office.
    • Travel 15-20%.
    • Typical workday attendance will require standard business hours.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may at times be exposed to fumes.
