Edlong’s New Sweet Flavors Satisfy Consumer Trends

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL [February 23, 2016]—Edlong Dairy Technologies launched their new sweet milk flavors inspired by naturally sweet and creamy dairy products. As legislative pressures rise to reduce sugar, and consumer mandates grow to satisfy sweet cravings, the motivation for new approaches to help balance consumer flavor and label demands in a variety of applications is increasing.

The American Heart Association recommends American women consume no more than 100 calories per day (about 6 teaspoons) of sugar and for men, no more than 150 calories per day (about 9 teaspoons). Concern for and awareness of added sugars is likely to rise if the FDA’s proposed changes to nutritional labeling are approved, requiring additives to be called out separately and creating a greater emphasis on calorie load.
