Title, location/department, when you started at Edlong.
My title is Applications Analyst and I work in the Applications department. I officially started on December 7 2015, but actually started working at Edlong on May 26, 2015.
How would you describe your typical day?
A typical day for me can vary dramatically, since I am involved in many aspects of Edlong. Some days I am running sensory, other days I am doing analytical work for the product line team. I am also the lean champion for the department and try my best to keep us moving forward toward a leaner future. There are days where I also work on product development.
What’s your favorite part about working here?
My favorite part about working here is the fact that you never know what you might be getting into when you walk through the door. I love how each day is different, which makes for an exciting adventure.
Is there a project, event, etc. that sticks out in your mind or a favorite memory that you might have from your time here?
There was a project where we worked with alcohol, and we were creating unique and interesting mixed drinks using our flavors. This stands out for me because it was one of the first times I really got to see how much of a difference our flavors can make in an application. Seeing how our flavors dramatically changed the profile set of these beverages amazed me, and really got me jumping aboard the flavor train.
How does what you do impact Edlong’s customers?
I don’t always directly work alongside our customers but I hope the work I do makes it easier for those who do. By creating simpler processes in the office, it allows us all to spend more time with our customers and less time at our desks.
How does your work make Edlong better?
I strive to make Edlong better by supporting our talented team. Like I said before, I don’t directly work with customers, so I try to help make everyone else’s life easier, meaning more time for money-making! What happens behind the scenes can be a driving force of success for the company
Italian food. Especially my Aunt’s famous cannolis!
One thing your coworkers might not know about you.
I was cloned … meaning I have an identical twin.
Your favorite thing to do for fun.
I am an avid bowler and have been since I was seven years old. I also love baseball. Go Cubs!
Any other anecdotes or stories about a time that you took a special pride in your work, or an interesting story about your time at Edlong? Maybe you solved a problem, tried something new or supported your co-workers to help them with something critical.
I try my best not to say “I” when talking about Edlong because every single person that I have worked with here has been the reason why I have learned from, and enjoyed, every experience here. The team we have is the reason why Edlong has come this far, and I try my best to contribute to their never-ending march forward!
