Edlong Announces 2018 Feeding Tomorrow Scholarship Winners

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL [11 July 2018]—Edlong has awarded Feeding Tomorrow scholarships to Chelsey Hinnenkamp and Casey Rush. Since 2012, the company has awarded thousands of dollars in scholarship money to students pursuing a degree in food science with an emphasis on dairy flavors and/or dairy science. The scholarships are awarded through IFT, the Institute of Food Technologists.

“There is no doubt that Chelsey and Casey will go on to make major contributions to the food industry given their commitment and drive,” said Edlong President and CEO Laurette Rondenet. “Edlong is honored to support them in their studies.”

Chelsey Hinnenkamp has been awarded the 2018 Feeding Tomorrow Specialty Graduate Scholarship. She is a second-year PhD student in food science at the University of Minnesota, where she also completed her MS in 2016. Her current doctoral research focuses on modifying low-value whey ingredients to improve their emulsion and encapsulation abilities. Her love for food science started in the kitchen, but the science and people have turned it into a passion.

Casey Rush has been awarded the 2018 Feeding Tomorrow Specialty Undergraduate Scholarship. A senior at Oregon State University, she is majoring in Food Science and Technology and minoring in Chemistry. She will be attending Oregon State University next year for her master’s degree in Food Science and Technology. Casey is passionate about dairy science and flavor chemistry and is excited about following her dreams and making an impact in the food science world.
