ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL—Five employees from Edlong Dairy Technologies will present their science and artistic skills at the third annual Culinary Care Corporate Cook-Off. They will be paired with Kevin Cuddihee, Executive Chef of Michelin-rated TWO Restaurant in Chicago. The event’s goal is to raise $100,000 to support Culinary Care’s patient portal—a one-of-a-kind, comprehensive malnutrition assessment and meal support tool for cancer patients.
Culinary Care creates meal support programs that ensure cancer patients and their families never have to struggle to get the nourishment they need to survive. The organization has served nearly 5,000 free meals since 2013, prepared fresh by top-rated restaurants.
“Edlong is honored and excited to support the important work of Culinary Care,” says President and CEO Laurette Rondenet. “Participation helps us continue our mission of enriching the lives of those we touch,” she adds.
Inspired by the popular cooking show Chopped, the fundraiser partners corporate sponsors with top chefs to prepare cancer-friendly dishes. While the teams cook, the action is live-streamed to guests who watch the teams compete, send “culinary curveballs” and dine on last year’s winning dishes.
The Edlong team includes Marketing Communications Manager Michelle Finley, Corporate Research Chef Anne Druschitz CRC®, Director of Regulatory Paul Patel, Dairy Research Scientist Lourdes Mato and Senior Food Scientist Monica Gotomo. The event will be held on September 28, 6-10 p.m. at Kendall College in Chicago, Illinois.
