Edlong Dairy Technologies Supports Starbucks Chorus, Street Requiem

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL [May 23, 2016]—Edlong Dairy Technologies was recently one of many businesses to sponsor the Street Requiem, a community choral benefit concert performed by the Starbucks Chorus to raise money and drive awareness of the homeless living in Seattle, Washington. The city’s homeless crisis is “visible on almost every corner,” reported the local KING 5 news.

“We are honored to be part of such a heartwarming benefit,” said Laurette Rondenet-Smith, Edlong President and CEO. “Every day we strive to live our mission—to enrich the lives of those we touch.”

Through the support of 150 passionate volunteer singers, 14 local musicians and numerous sponsors, the Starbucks Chorus presented an awe-inspiring event and donated 90% of proceeds to nonprofits and those facing homelessness.

“Our hearts are swollen with what and how this concert meant to our audience and the 10,000 homeless individuals in this area,” said James Hing, Starbucks Chorus Director, and Scott Nance, Technical Director. “There was a palpable gasp by the audience and one audience member shouted “WOW!” at the conclusion of a very intense song. That’s how powerful of an evening it was.”
