I joined Edlong in November, 2007 in Quality Control as a Senior QC Tech

How would you describe your typical day?
I do a lot of different things so I don’t really have a typical day. In Customer Service I may be backing up someone who is out of the office or managing customer requests for information and documentation. Some days I work on employee engagement projects or gather information on our charitable activities for the Edlong Enriches team. Other days you may find me in Lean meetings or planning an upcoming company forum.

What’s your favorite part about working here?
I love learning about all the different pieces that fit together to make Edlong great. We are definitely all in this together!

Is there a project, event, etc. that sticks out in your mind or a favorite memory that you might have from your time here?
It was fun seeing everyone in their formal attire for the 100th anniversary party.

How does what you do impact Edlong’s customers?
What I do in Customer Service directly impacts our customers because I get them the information they need in a timely manner.

How does what you do impact the community?
The Edlong Enriches team worked closely with HR to develop a matching gifts program for employees, in addition to the charitable contributions the company already provides. This program allows employees to receive a matching donation from the company to causes that are important to them. I am very proud to be a part of a company that cares about its employees and the community.

How does your work make Edlong better?
Teaming up with my co-workers to find ways to improve communication and processes within Edlong is the most rewarding thing I do. The better we work together, the better we can serve our customers, so everybody wins.

Favorite food.
I am a foodie and love to try new things. I don’t have a single favorite.

One thing your coworkers might not know about you.
I have had many jobs in the past. I worked at a zoo, in the carnival and in an automotive factory, all before I graduated from college.

Your favorite thing to do for fun.
I love yoga, reading, cooking and doing creative projects around the house.

Any other anecdotes or stories about a time that you took a special pride in your work, or an interesting story about your time at Edlong? Maybe you solved a problem, tried something new or supported your co-workers to help them with something critical.
I am very proud to be a part of the Employee Engagement team and Edlong’s Lean initiative. Both groups work hard to make our company even better than it already is.
