ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL, USA [7 May 2018]—Edlong, a leading manufacturer of dairy and dairy-free flavours, will be a first time exhibitor at the Free From Functional Food Expo, Europe’s only free from and functional food trade show and conference, in Stockholm, Sweden. The company will feature The Science of Delicious through the unique way it balances science and artistry to create authentic taste in food and beverages. Visitors can sample innovative demos made with Edlong flavours that meet the dietary preferences of today’s consumers.
Demos will include: a dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan caramel and chili cheese popcorn mix with indulgent sweet and spicy flavours; a non-dairy, allergen-free, vegan cheese spread that replaces natural cheese without sacrificing rich, authentic taste; and a vegan meringue that masks the meaty and metallic notes of chickpeas with a sweet, natural vanilla custard flavour and texture.
In addition, Senior Food Scientist and Edlong European Global Sensory Manager Isabel Macedo will present a 30-minute talk on formulating plant-based products. The discussion will spotlight unique formulation challenges and new ways to use dairy flavours to improve the flavour of vegan applications.

The “Formulating Vegan Dairy Applications” program will take place 15.30 to 16.00 hrs, Thursday, 17th of May 2018 in the Lactose Free and Ingredients Theatre.
